Bassett Vets square off in Wilts County Cup

Tuesday 5th March 2019

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Blue and Yellow Veterans teams face one another in the Wiltshire County Veterans Cup quarter finals at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground tomorrow evening.

It should be a cracking tie on the stadium pitch at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, with kick off at 7.30pm.

The tie represents a celebration of the success the club's Veterans section has had over the past couple of seasons too. Under the guidance of the club's Head of Veterans Section Nick Warren, it has gone from strength to strength and has now become a major section within the club.

The Veterans players are keen supporters of the club's fundraising events and end-of-season ground maintenance working parties and have also formed strong links with the Royal Air Force Veterans team, assisting them with their fundraising efforts.

Ahead of their Wiltshire County Cup match, club Chairman Andy Walduck commented: "I'm so pleased that both teams are meeting and that the game will be taking place on the stadium pitch."

"I know that the match will be played in good spirits, although I expect there to be some mistimed challenges!"

"I would like to wish both the Blue and Yellow teams good luck – the good news is that Bassett will definitely be represented in the semi-finals!"

Do come along and show your support to both teams!
