Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 14 Blue ended a run of four games without by triumphing 6-5 in a thrilling contest away against FC Chippenham Youth Eagles.

In a topsy-turvy encounter, Jacob Rendell-Haines' brace and further goals from Alfie Gleed, Charlie Hudson and Joseph Rouse clinched the points.

The Under 18 Blues also recorded a narrow victory, and their 4-2 win after extra time against Malmesbury Victoria Youth DT booked a North Wilts League Cup semi-final place.

Cameron Bell scored twice, with Bailey Gallagher and Harrison Gough also netting to ensure a second Bassett side are represented in the last four, joining the Under 16 Blues.

Being in cup action meant the Blues were knocked off top spot in North Wilts League Division One though. Taking their place are the Under 18 Yellows, who saw off Wanborough Juniors 3-1. On target for Bassett were Ryan Battershell, Dominic Harris and Joe Mitchell.

The Under 16 Blues won by the same score to keep the pressure on Division One leaders Cirencester Town Centurions.

On another successful weekend, there were also triumphs for the Under 15 Blue, Under 15 Yellow and Under 13 Blue teams.

The Under 15 Blues romped to an 8-1 triumph at home against Purton Youth. Kevin Prouse fired four, while Marcel Lewis (2), Otis Lewis and Finlay Whittaker-Orton completed the rout.

Sebastian Turner's hat-trick and Tristan McKay's pair of goals ensured the Under 15 Yellows were among the goals too. Further strikes from Jacob Davidson and Samuel Osei Bonsu finished off a 7-3 win against Wroughton Youth White.

Meanwhile, Alec Gawthropp's double and a James Dorset goal sealed a 3-1 victory for the Under 13 Blues away against FC Chippenham Youth Spartans.

Elsewhere, a 3-1 reverse against second place Lydiard Millicent Juniors condemned the Under 16 Yellows to their first league loss of the campaign. The Under 13 Yellows fell by the same score away at mid-table rivals AFC Newbury White, as did the Under 14 Yellows at home against Oaksey.

There were heavy defeats for both the Under 13 White (0-8 away at Croft Junior Red) and Under 12 Yellow (0-9 against Croft Junior Blue) teams.
