A superb playoff performance from Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 12 Yellow sealed the North Wilts League Division Four title as they beat Ramsbury Youth 5-1.

After a thrilling three-team title race, Bassett and Ramsbury finished the regular season level on points, forcing a playoff to determine the champions.

The teams had split their earlier encounters in the campaign, but Bassett proved too good when the title was on the line.

Leading scorer Patrick Otoo-Mensah led the way with a hat-trick, with the scoring completed by Samuel Watson and an own goal.

It was an excellent display all round – as well as being clinical in attack, the defence kept Ramsbury's dangerous attack at bay with 'keeper Joshua Moore also pulling off some important saves.

The Under 14 Blues were another team in playoff action this weekend, as they faced FC Chippenham Youth White for runners-up spot in Division One. However, Bassett were unable to claim victory in a tight game, losing 3-1.

Also playing were the Under 15 Blues, who, having won the North Wilts League Cup on Saturday, wrapped up their Division One campaign with a 4-0 triumph against Castle Combe Colts.

On target for the cup double winners and league runners-up were Nathaniel Bell, Jack Langcaster, Thomas Pitt and Daniel Warre.
