Under 15 Yellows on cloud nine

Sunday 29th October 2017

There seems no stopping Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Under 15 Yellow side as they recorded a fifth straight league win in North Wilts League Division Three with a 9-2 thumping of Cricklade Youth.

Callum Flay was again in prolific form as his four goals led the team. He now has thirteen league goals for the season. Contributing alongside him were Tom Warren, who netted a hat trick, Noah Beech and Joshua Irving.

Remaining perfect alongside them are the Under 13 Blues and Under 12 Yellows, who both recorded victories too.

The Under 13 Blues defeated Fairford and Lechlade 8-1. After scoring six last week, Jacob Rendell-Haines struck four goals, while Edward Aitken, Michael Clifton, Samuel Warner and Joey Warren were also on target.

Meanwhile, the Under 12 Yellows made it five wins from five in Division Four with a 6-1 victory against Stratton Juniors Tigers. Patrick Otoo-Mensah's hat trick took him to fifteen league goals for the season. Samuel Watson's brace and Nalani Hunt's goal made it an extremely convincing margin of victory.

Elsewhere, the Under 12 Whites were involved in an amazing fourteen goal thriller against Chiseldon Youth, eventually losing 8-6. Poppy Wannell grabbed a hat trick as Oliver Larcombe and Luke Taylor also found the net for Bassett.

The Under 16 Blues were narrowly defeated too, but in a lower scoring game as they fell 2-0 against Stratton Youth.

High-flying Lydiard Millicent Juniors proved too hot for the Under 13 Yellows to handle, triumphing 6-1 against Bassett.

The Under 14 Yellows lost by the same score against South Cerney, with Samuel Osei Bonsu netting a consolation.

Despite Naman Gurung's goal, the Under 12 Blues tasted defeat, going down 4-1 against the previously winless Swindon Supermarine.
