Sunday 27th November 2016

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 13 Yellows moved to the top of North Wilts League Division Four with a 16-4 thrashing of Blunsdon.

Bassett's convincing victory, combined with defeat for Lydiard Millicent Juniors Green, means they now have sole possession of first place.

Samuel Osei Bonsu was their leading goal-getter against Blunsdon as he bagged a double hat-trick. Daniel Seal struck three, while there were braces for Samuel Case and Harry Collins, as well as additional strikes from Tristan McKay and Kyle Ullah.

Also taking steps towards the summit were the Under 12 and 13 Blues.

The team from the younger age group rose to third in Division Three with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Croft Juniors Blue thanks to goals from Edward Aitken and Joey Warren.

The Under 13 Blues are up to third in Division One after Otis Lewis' pair of goals saw off Croft Blue.

It was another weekend of cup success for the Under 14 Blues. After victory in the County Cup last weekend, they booked a place in the North Wilts League Cup semi-finals by hitting five without reply against Castle Combe Colts.

Daniel Warre struck twice, while Nathaniel Bell, Michael Gilder and Billy Saunders also found the back of the net.

Meanwhile, the Under 15 Blues suffered a County Cup exit as they were beaten 4-1 by FC Chippenham Youth.

Suffering league defeats were the Under 18s (0-3 away against Ashton Keynes Youth), Under 14 Yellows (0-4 against FC Chippenham Youth) and Under 12 Yellows (0-9 away at Fairford Town Youth to end their two-game winning streak).
