Girls continue to improve despite defeat

Well done to Bassett for holding their own in the second half. With Swindon having older girls and four of them doing the Centre of Excellence training, we were delighted that they did not go into double figures against us.

Shannon was doing very well, in defence, in midfield and her little run in the second half was certainly very good. Aimee Menzies did some good blocking moves and could slowly dribble the ball to clear it. Evie was not getting the ball as well as previous games, but continues to be a solid player in midfield. Ellie was good in goal and defence. The attempts at goal in the second half were only about five and Julia did four with Felicity doing one. Beathen continues to develop and made several tackles during the match and successfully won the ball, which will build her confidence.

Sarah's injured knee in the first half of the match, which meant that we used Ellie as goalie in the second half. But Sarah was able to offer some stability in midfield in the second half. Ellie did doing really well in goal in the second half.

All in all the result 0 to Bassett and 6 to Swindon Reds was a good score. The girls continue to improve and the new ones who have joined this season have fitted in well.

Still some points to improve upon but I feel we will get there.

A big than you to the parents for the support being given, washing kit, writing reports and putting goals out. Both Gemma and I appreciate this.
