Bassett just edge it against Stratton Youth

In what was the official league match, Bassett's second team put in an excellent performance to win the match. Two goals from Phillip Forster were enough to win the match but Bassett could and should have scored a lot more if players had been less greedy in front of goal. However, Bassett did not have all the play and it took some fine defending from Stuart Smedley and stand-in goalkeeper Robert Leighfield to prevent the home side scoring more than the one goal. The ever-improving Josh Dimond also played well in defence for Bassett in what was yet another enjoyable match for both players and spectators alike. Bassett have this season got a good squad of players with little between most of them in terms of ability which bodes well for when the team starts playing 11' a side next season
