A week after the Under 13 Girls reached the last four, Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 14 Girls also advanced to the North Wilts League Cup semi finals.

The U14s faced Division Two side Bradford Town Seals on Saturday. Bassett had a full squad of thirteen and the advantage of playing at home, but the away side were not to be taken lightly

.The girls started strong and took an early lead through Sienna Matthews, who picked the ball up down the wing, cut inside and finished neatly. 1-0!

Bassett didn't stop there and looked to extend their advantage. Their second goal came from a corner, with their first effort initially saved, but Ava Hall was on hand to tap the ball in.

The Blues went into the break two up and comfortable.

The home side came out even stronger in the second half and were creating wave after wave of attacks. Mia Hughes was in pursuit of a goal and her hard work paid off as she found the back of the net twice.

The first came through Erin, who laid a great ball into Mia's path that she was able to convert.

Not long after, she completed her brace after beating a Bradford defender in a 1v1 situation and slotting the ball home.

The Blues were 4-0 up and cruising!

The Seals did manage to snatch a goal back, although it was arguable whether it should have been ruled offside or not.

The away side became more confident after this and created more chances, but keeper Chloe held strong and pulled off some great saves to ensure the girls a win.

The game finished 4-1 and things were looking positive for Bassett, who now had a well-deserved spot in the semi-final.

Supporters' player of the match was awarded to Ava Hall, and Coaches' player went to Elsie Gorringe.
