Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 14 Girls played Ferndale Rodbourne away on Saturday and gained all three points in a well deserved 3-0 win.

The girls were limited to space on a small pitch, but they adapted well. The Blues were on top in the first half and were combining well.

Eventually they got the got the goal they deserved when Lily Lloyd delivered a great cross into the box. The ball fell to Sienna Matthews, who smashed the ball home with a first time shot.

Bassett's lead felt safer when Elise Dart extended it with her chest at the end of a corner. 2-0!

Ferndale still looked threatening, and were even awarded a penalty, but keeper Chloe saved it brilliantly.

Sienna sealed of the game after pouncing on a mistake from the keeper, making the final score 3-0.

Player of the match went to Elise and Alisa, who created lots of chances and have plenty to be proud of.

The Under 16s faced Tyrone Mings Youth Volcanoes on Saturday afternoon in a battle of second vs third place.

The Blues started off really well and took an early lead. Poppy passed a great through ball for Matilda to run onto, who smashed it home.

Tyrone Mings were looking threatening, but the girls defended well and battled hard to maintain their lead.

Sadly, before the break they conceded two late goals which knocked their confidence slightly.

Eliza and Tilly were working well down the wings, and not long into the second half, Tilly crossed a great ball into the box that was volleyed just wide.

Unfortunately, the opposition snatched two goals back not long after.

However, Bassett weren't deterred and got one back through Daisy Bundy, who volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

The Blues conceded again before the final whistle, with the game finishing 5-2, but the score doesn't reflect the game and all the girls should be proud of themselves.

Well done to player of the match Amber who was superb in defence.

The Under 13s suffered an unfortunate 3-2 defeat to Nalgo Sports Eagles in the Wiltshire County Cup on Saturday, where they just missed out on a place in the semi-finals.

Bassett took the lead early on through Christina Croft, who went on a great driving run and beat the keeper.

However, the girls got a little too comfortable and conceded a sloppy goal that brought the score level.

Things started going downhill after that, and moments later, Nalgo were awarded a penalty due to an unlucky handball, which they converted.

At half time, the Blues were 2-1 down.

The girls showed great resilience in the second half, determined to find an equaliser.

Things didn't quite go to plan and Nalgo scored another, but Bassett kept going.

Tia Campbell was pushed up into midfield and made an instant impact. She drove towards goal and fired the ball home for her second of the season and gave the whole team hope of an equaliser.

Unfortunately, the girls just couldn't manage to find the back of the net, and the game finished 3-2. They will bounce back from this though, and there is still another cup to focus on.

Tia and Aamira were joint players of the match for constantly working hard and defending brilliantly together at the back.
