Programme picks up more prizes

Tuesday 2nd July 2024

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's match day programmes continued to receive outstanding recognition in the annual Soccer Club Swap Shop Programme Awards. And in the 2023-24 edition of the awards the Women's First Team programme was again selected as the best in all of women's football, while the Men's First Team programme came second in the non league category.

Men's First Team

After finishing fourth last season, the Men's First Team programme climbed another two places from last year, being rated as the second best in all of non-league football.

The results means that Bassett have now achieved a top ten placing in this section of the awards for nine consecutive seasons, with twelve consecutive seasons in the top twenty.

This continued excellence means the programme was again voted best in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

This season's prize was won by Western League Premier Division outfit Torpoint Athletic with last year's winners Portland United of the Wessex League Premier Division in third.

That means the top three positions are all occupied by teams at step five of the non league pyramid.

Women's First Team

Since first being produced for the 2019-20 season - when it was rated as fourth best, the Women's First Team programme has always scored highly in the awards.

And for an extremely impressive third season in a row, Bassett's programme was rated the best in all of Women's Football - a fantastic achievement given the competition included teams in the Women's Super League.

The consistent recognition that Bassett's programme receives reflects the time and effort put in to producing the publications, which are designed and edited by club President Mark Smedley.

Huge thanks also go to club sponsors Interprint, who kindly print the club's programmes. They have provided quality service from start to finish and the print quality of the programmes has been exceptional. The club is extremely grateful of the valuable support Interprint have provided and look forward to continuing to partner with them in the seasons to come.

The programmes have further benefited from the contributions of Steve Green, whose excellent photographs have featured throughout the programmes, as well as managers Sam Collier and Adam Wood, the various Women's First Team players writing guest columns each week, Chairman Paul Gerrish, Head of Women's Section Bryan Wood, Sam Wood and club Press Officer Stuart Smedley, who have all provided regular content.
