Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Annual General Meeting saw the presentation of two of the club's most prestigious annual awards - the Andy Amos Youth Section Coach of the Year and Rob Woodhouse Fellow of the Year prizes.
Many congratulations go to this year's winners, Kevin Pocock and Pete Yeardley.
The Coach of the Year prize was introduced three years ago to honour the memory of Andy Amos - a former coach within the club's youth section who tragically passed away in April 2020.
While this year's prize could have been awarded to many of the club's coaches, one certainly stood out this last season. And that is Kevin Pocock.
Last season he ran not only his own Sunday team (the Under 11 Yellows), but assisted with another team while also coaching at the club's Saturday Community Football sessions with his efforts contributing towards the significant, ongoing success of the latter.
Despite having a busy home and work life, Kevin also found time to complete his UEFA C coaching qualification. He can also be found having a quiet pint in the clubhouse when England are playing with his family and is also supportive of the fundraising evenings the club holds.
An all-round great individual, the players he coaches, as well as their parents, hold Kevin in high esteem. He is an inspiration to many, creating positive and fun coaching sessions.
Named in memory of former youth section coach Rob Woodhouse, who passed away in May 2009, the prize recognises particular volunteers who go the extra mile and represent the values that the club seeks to promote.
This year's prize went to Vice Chairman and Life Member Pete Yeardley. Pete's face is probably the most familiar around the club. He is a tireless volunteer who nearly spends as much time at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground as he does at home. Undertaking any and every job, however big or small, he is actively engaged with all sections of the club, helping out at games involving teams in the Men's and Women's sections, organising the youth section's annual Holland Tour and also attending games involving his grandson Ryan. His company Arctic Services is a valued club sponsor too.
Pete is in his third decade of volunteering for the club - and he maintains the same energy and enthusiasm as he has always done, making him a deserved winner of the Fellow of the Year prize.
