For the second weekend in a row, the under 12 Blues played away this week making the short journey to FC Calne Galaxy.

After last weekend's winning start Bassett started well with Thomas Nicholas causing the Calne back three problems with his pace and work rate.

Sloppy defending in the middle of the pitch gave Calne the opportunity to run at Bassett's back line, finished with a low shot in the corner of Tom Davis' goal.

Calne went into the break 1-0 up.

Bassett started the second half fast and on the front foot putting Calne under pressure when Edward Greenouff held up the ball in midfield before having a shot from outside the box to make it level at 1-1.

More good play from the boys found Charlie Griffiths unmarked at the back post but his effort went just wide.

Calne got their second after more bad defending saw the Calne forward dribble past three or four static Bassett players before firing into the top corner.

Bassett piled forward. Sam Smith beat a couple of players before being fouled in the box for a penalty, Finley Hyde smashing the resulting penalty into the roof of the net off the keeper's hand.

Only a late save from Tom kept the score level.

The final score 2-2 was a fair result with both teams putting everything into the game.

Man of the Match for Bassett was Jake Webster for a solid performance against the Calne front line.
