Farnell combines her excellent physical qualities with her strong shot-stopping abilities and will hope to make the number one shirt her own this season.

Millie Powell


Powell is a young goalkeeper entering her first season in senior ladies' football. She has great shotstopping ability and is also confident with the ball at her feet. Boasting a lot of talent and potential, she will be aiming to push for the number one jersey this season.

Wood is a club stalwart who returns to the club in a playing capacity this season. She is a player who is Bassett through and through, having started out in the club's youth section before featuring for the Ladies' side during their rise up through the divisions, while she also volunteers as a coach of the club's girls teams. Wood has been rather unfortunate with injuries that have limited her playing career in recent seasons, but last year she returned with great success, featuring in goal for Highworth Town. She is also capable of playing out on field when needed and has the ability to score goal of the season contenders.

A Bassett stalwart, Jefferies is the Ladies captained and leads by example from defence. While a solid centre back, she is more than willing to step out from defence and start attacks and is also a threat from set pieces. Ultra-reliable and more than happy to get stuck in with the ugly side of the game, Jefferies is another player who will serve as a role model for Bassett's younger players on and off the pitch. In Bassett's 2018-19 double-winning campaign, her performances earned her both the Players' Player and Manager's Player of the Year awards, while she picked up the Players' Player prize in 2013-14 and 2014-15. Last season, she also briefly filled in as Player-Manager.

Kirk is a young defender entering her third season with the club. A player who reads the game exceptionally well and possesses a calmness which is rare in a player so young, she performed impressively in twelve appearances in the 2019-20 campaign – her first in senior football.

Olivia Owenson


Owenson is a young player who has been training with Bassett for the past two seasons while playing for Ashton Keynes in the Wiltshire County Women's League. Although also capable of playing up front, she is most effective in defence, having the ability to operate effectively anywhere across the backline and possessing great confidence when in possession. Owenson will be hoping to cement a starting place in Bassett's defence as she makes the step up to South West Women's League football this season.

Patel is a promising young defender who has been training with Bassett's Under 16 Girls side over the past couple of seasons. In that time she has come on leaps and bounds, acquiring a greater understanding of her role in the team to match her talent. She will be aiming to gain her first experiences of senior women's football this season.

Entering her fourth season with Bassett's Ladies team, Smith is a highly talented young defender who has come through the club's youth section. She made her Ladies team debut towards the end of the 2018-19 season after turning 16 and proved to be a vital player during Bassett's title run-in. Smith then appeared 13 times in 2019-20. An accomplished defender who combines the physical side of the game with an assured calmness in possession, she will be looking to further cement a starting place and continue her development.

Wilson is an immensely talented young defender entering her third season with the club. A competitive player who seems to improve with every game she plays, Wilson is comfortable on the ball and has an exceptional ability to read the game. She featured twelve times during her debut campaign with Bassett in 2019-20, and her performances saw her voted as joint Players' Player of the Year.

Lisa Coe


A long-serving midfielder, Coe has been a key player for Bassett for a number of seasons and played a vital role in the club's 2018-19 double-winning squad. An elegant player who can dictate the game when needed, Coe is technically superb and has all the ability to cope and excel at this higher level. She is also able to chip in with a goal when needed, netting three times in 2019-20. Coe is club vice-captain and leads by example in the way she plays.

One of Bassett's longest-serving players, Egerton is a versatile player who will play anywhere she is asked and will always give 100 percent for her team. A dynamic, energetic midfielder, Egerton will also chip in with a few goals and assists. In 2019-20, she was a hugely impressive performer. An ever-present, she scored twice and was joint winner of the team's Players' Player of the Year award prize. She previously won that award in 2015-16 and 2016-17 and is a three-time winner of Bassett's Manager's Player of the Year prize (2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17).

Winner of Bassett's Manager's Player of the Year award in 2017-18 as well as the Supporters' Player of the Year prize in 2018-19, Gulliver is an all-round athlete who has the ability to defend and attack excellently. Having initially joined the club as a defender, she was moved into a more advanced role in 2019-20 and continued to deliver, scoring nine times in 14 appearances.

Lyons is a reliable, clever footballer who is neat and tidy in and out of possession. A true team player, all but two of whose appearances in 2019-20 came as a substitute, she is a midfielder who can be trusted to cover various roles and follow instructions brilliantly. Lyons can also be relied upon to chip in with some key goals too – in Bassett's 2018-19 double-winning campaign, she netted six times, adding four goals in 2019-20. Last season Lyons also featured for Highworth Town, scoring four times in seven appearances.

A player who has come through Bassett's youth section, O'Nions is a hard-working, young left-sided midfielder with plenty of potential. O'Nions made her first foray into senior women's football at the end of the 2020-21 campaign, gaining experience in the series of friendly fixtures that the Ladies played. She gave a good account of herself in those matches, with that also being the case in the build-up to this season. A student of the game and a valuable clubperson, she is also a coach for the club's Under 10s Girls team as well as at the Saturday morning Wildcats' sessions.

Sykes is a cultured midfielder player who returned to Bassett last season after a serious injury and university commitments kept from her from playing for the club in the 2019-20 campaign. She is a player who loves to get stuck in and impose herself on a game, possesses an eye for a pass, is capable of playing at a high tempo for 90 minutes and can also conjure up a goal when needed. Sykes earned Bassett's Players' Player of the Year award in her debut season with the club in 2017-18 and went on to score two goals in the team's double-winning campaign a year later.

A player who has been with Basset since the 2016-17 season, Baker is a quick forward player who possesses a great ability to hold up the ball and combine with her teammates. Having achieved a best haul of eight goals in the 2018-19 campaign, she will be aiming to grab some more this season. However, Baker's work out of possession is just as important. She is not afraid of getting stuck in and can always be relied upon to give her best effort for the team.

Davies is a young forward who is entering her third season with Bassett. An adventurous striker that is not afraid to take people on, she will be aiming to cement herself as a Ladies team regular having found her opportunities limited in the past couple of years. In 2019-20, she featured in three competitive fixtures for the club, scoring one goal in a cup victory over Middlezoy Rovers. She then spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Melksham Town where she netted six times.

A player who has been with Bassett since joining for the 2017-18 season, Elliott is a forward with a real engine and desire to work hard. She played a vitally important role at the back end of Bassett's 2018-19 double-winning season, performing various roles exceptionally. She then registered an impressive haul of seven goals in 14 appearances in 2019-20 and, after missing most of last season due to pregnancy, will be looking to re-establish herself in the team's starting eleven this season.

Halden is a promising young forward who has featured in Bassett's youth section and is now making the step up to senior women's football for the first time this season. She is a player who boasts an attacking instinct and knows how to find the back of the net.

Hayley Huckin Headshot
Hayley Huckin


Huckin is an experienced, all-action forward, capable of holding the ball up and bringing others into play as well as stretching the opponents' defence with her pace. Huckin also brings plenty of goals to the team, and she has finished as one of the team's top scorers in each of the past five seasons. In 2019-20 she finished the season with 22 goals, with her performances earning her Bassett Manager's Player of the Year prize.

Wannell is an extremely talented young striker who has come through Bassett's youth section and is now taking her first steps in senior women's football. An energetic forward, she has an eye for goal - as shown by the two goals she notched in friendly fixtures this summer.

Graham Fletcher Headshot

Fletcher joined Bassett in November 2020 and is a manager with significant experience in women's football. An FA Level 2 qualified coach, Fletcher was manager of Cheltenham Town Ladies in the FA Women's National League Division One South West from 2014 to 2017 and twice guided the team to the Gloucestershire FA Women's Trophy final, winning the competition in 2016-17. Fletcher then moved to take charge of Cheltenham's Under 18s side. He helped them win the Gloucestershire County Under 18s League and Cup double in 2017-18. A season later he guided the team to the Gloucestershire County Women's Football League Division Two title with an unbeaten record as well as the Gloucestershire FA Women's Challenge Cup final.

Peters joined Bassett's Ladies side as Goalkeeper Coach in the summer of 2020. He is also a coach with Advanced Sports Coaching Ltd as well as the Steve Hale Goalkeeping School.
