Congratulations to Finlay Cranswick-Coates who was crowned 2024-25 RWBTFC Fantasy Football League champion, becoming the sixth different winner in the past six years!
Entering the final gameweek in second place with a twelve point deficit, Cranswick-Coates' Szobosslads outfit dramatically overhauled that to claim the title. Finishing with 2,577 points, Cranswick-Coates wound up just six points ahead of last season's winner Ben Tomes whose Toonali side this time had to settle for runners-up.
In an extremely tight finish at the top, 2022-23 winner Joe Mitchell saw his Average Joes team climb into third place with a strong final gameweek, finishing on 2,569 points - eight behind the winner.
A further former champion - 2020-21 winner Steve Astin's ABCDE FC (2,549) - came fourth. Astin entered the final week in third before dropping a place.
But he had a more than welcome consolation prize as he lifted the Fantasy League Cup, defeating two-time league champion Sam Lawro's Viva Paul Curtis team 45-43 in the final.
Back in the league, Finley Sly (2,542 points) completed the top five.
Huge thanks go to all 224 entrants who took part in this year's Fantasy League.
The Fantasy League is always great fun and, importantly, remains free to enter.
The league will be up and running again next season for its sixteenth edition – and we look forward to seeing even more participants.
