Huge thanks from Royal Wootton Bassett Town Football Club and Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association to all who participated in and came to support the parents versus coaches fundraising match on Saturday!

Held to raise money to help contribute towards the purchase of a new big screen for the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground clubhouse, £682 was raised - with the inclement weather doing nothing to dampen the spirits of those taking part.

The fixture resulted in a 7-1 win for the coaches - managed by club photographer and Under 14 Blue star Carlos Green, who guided his team to a convincing victory.

Mark Cooper led the way with a brace - though he missed a penalty for his hat trick, while Sam Collier, Owen Godwin, Alan Griffin, Andy Guppy and Andy Morris were also on target. Shaun Carter struck the sole reply for the parents team.

Sincere thanks go to Claire and Grant Kirkup and Carlos Green for organising the match.

It is now planned to make the match an annual event, raising money for different causes each year.
