Goalless draw ends Under 13 Blues’ title hopes

Despite a 0-0 draw against Swindon Supermarine White, Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 13 Blue saw their North Wilts League Division One title hopes come to an end on Sunday.

Bassett required victory in their final match to go back above Supermarine - and then to hope for Supermarine to drop points in their remaining two games.

However, the teams played out a tense 0-0 draw which sealed the title for Supermarine.

Bassett will nevertheless at least finish third - and the Blues, in their first season in Division One after earning promotion last season, are still very likely to claim runners-up spot.

Elsewhere this weekend, the Under 16 Blues fell to a narrow 1-0 loss away at Kingsdown Lions Blue. That defeat brought Bassett's three game winning streak to an end after the Blues had triumphed 3-0 away at AFC Newbury in midweek courtesy of goals from Samuel Case, James Dorsett and Christopher Guppy.

On Saturday Siena Badman and Daisy Bundy scored for the Under 12 Girls in an 11-2 defeat against AFC Corsham Wildcats.
