Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 12 Blue recorded their first win in competitive football on Sunday as they defeated FC Abbey Meads Youth Purple 13-0 in North Wilts League Division Three.

Six different scorers netted for Bassett as they charged to victory. But it was Jude Turnbull who led the way, scoring four goals for his side. Alex Greenouff and Harry Scott were close behind as both netted hat-tricks, while Theo Box, Bailey Hulbert and Alfie-Jack McCarthy completed the scoring in a resounding victory.

The Under 15 Blues and Under 14 Blues also opened their league campaigns with convincing wins.

Hat tricks from Parker Fisher and Finlay Marshall and a further goal from Ed Greenouff secured a 7-0 triumph away against Wims 11 Foothills for the Under 15 Blues.

Meanwhile, Brandon Jack (2), Alex Bell, Oliver Caskey and Leon Hudson were all on target as the Under 14 Blues saw off Blunsdon Youth 5-2.

Elsewhere, the Under 13 Blue side remain undefeated in Division One after a thrilling 3-3 draw at home against Robins. Winners last week, they were unable to make it six points from six to start their inaugural season in the top division. However, goals from Liam Lye-Owens, Finley Marchment and Austin Tanner made sure of a point.

Four sides suffered defeats this weekend.

The Under 13 Yellows were unable to build on last week's big cup win as they lost their league opener 6-2 at Stratton Juniors Lions. Jack McGeoch netted a brace for Bassett.

The Under 12 Yellows were beaten 6-1 away at FC Chippenham Youth Kestrels, while South Cerney Youth scored five without reply against the Under 14 Yellows.

The Under 18s were in Wiltshire County Youth Cup first round action and were eliminated after a 9-0 loss against 2019-20 winners Chippenham Town.
