Tuesday 13th July 2021

Ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season, Royal Wootton Bassett Town are seeking volunteers for various roles.

Matchday Kiosk Volunteers

Royal Wootton Bassett Town are seeking volunteers to help with the preparation and sale of food and drinks from the stadium kiosk at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

Volunteers will be required on senior matchdays (Saturday afternoons & some Tuesday evenings) throughout the season, as well as on Sunday mornings to allow the kiosk to be open on youth section matchdays.

Anybody interested in helping in this capacity is invited to contact Chairman Andy Walduck or Head of Youth Section Mari Green.

Youth Section Press Officer

Royal Wootton Bassett Town are seeking a volunteer – be they a player, parent or supporter – to serve as 'Youth Section Press Officer' for the 2021-22 season.

The individual would be responsible for writing a weekly round-up of youth section games to be published on the website home page.

It is hoped that the opportunity would be of interest to a parent as well as any youth section members hoping to pursue a career in journalism, as it would be a great way for them to gain experience.

The round-up would cover games for the Under 12 to 18 age groups. Due to FA regulations, it is not possible to report the results and scorers in games for the Under 7 to 11 age groups.

Anybody interested in the role, or who would like more information, should contact club Press Officer Stuart Smedley and Head of Youth Section Mari Green by email.

Video Editor

Royal Wootton Bassett Town are seeking a volunteer – be they a player, parent or supporter – to serve as Video Editor for the 2021-22 season.

The individual would be responsible for producing highlight videos of games recorded using the club's Veo subscription, which will then be posted on the RWBTFC YouTube channel and the club's website

It is hoped that the opportunity would be of interest to youth section members who possess or are interested in learning video editing skills and any members hoping to potentially pursue a career in the media.

Anybody interested in the role, or who would like more information, should contact club Press Officer Stuart Smedley by email.

For both the Youth Section Press Officer and Video Editor roles, the club would be more than happy to utilise its local media contacts and assist any volunteers in gaining further media work experience.

In addition to the roles outlined above, the club is always seeking additional volunteers.

Indeed, volunteers are vital to the success of the club. We are always looking to encourage members to be part of the club in whatever way they can. Whatever time you can give will be valued greatly.

If you are able to offer the club help in any way, please contact a Committee member. Contact details for Committee members are listed on the Directory page of our website.

Pitch Bookings Coordinator sought

Royal Wootton Bassett Town are seeking a volunteer with good administrative and organisational skills to serve as Pitch Bookings Coordinator for the 2021-22 season.

The individual will be responsible for liaising with team managers as well as the Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association regarding the booking of pitches and the North Wilts Youth Football League and Wiltshire County Women's and Girls' Football League regarding kick off time for teams in the club's youth section.

When youth teams fixtures are released for the 2021-22 season, it is estimated that around 2 days of work will be required. This will include work to allocate home kick off times to each team; liaise with the relevant leagues to update kick off times; cross-check home fixtures and resolve any clashes that might exist.

Once the season has started, around two to three hours' time per week will likely be required. This will include work to email team managers and relevant club individuals with details containing weekly pitch allocations; cross-checking fixtures and making amendments where necessary (in consultation with the leagues and youth team managers); and resolving any ad-hoc queries.

Anybody interested in helping in this capacity is invited to contact Secretary Ian Thomas or Head of Youth Section Mari Green.

The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Anita Evans for her efforts in this role over the past few years and also offering to provide support to the individual who will take on this important role.
