Coronavirus Update: Updated Risk Assessment and Method Statement

Monday 17th May 2021

Royal Wootton Bassett Town have published an updated version of its Covid-19 Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS).

The updated document covers guidance issued in relation to the move into step three of the government's roadmap from Monday 17 May.

It is vital that these procedures are adhered to for the sake of all our members, opposing teams, their families and the wider local community. Football activities will continue to take place according to The FA and Government guidelines.

The RAMS document can be found here.

It is essential that all coaches, players, parents/guardians/carers and supporters take time to read this document. No coach or player must attend any training session or take part in a match unless they have read and understood the controls that are required. It is also necessary for coaches, players and parents/guardians/carers to have signed the RAMS form.

The RAMS document includes vital information, including:

  • A copy of the QR code that can be used with the NHS Covid 19 contact tracing app;
  • An assessment of risks related to maintaining social distancing, the site and buildings, equipment, health and wellbeing, and travelling, and the measures put in place to mitigate against these;
  • How training sessions and matches will take place safely in a way that reduces and minimises the risk of Covid-19 transmission;
  • What is expected of coaches;
  • What is expected of players;
  • What is expected of parents / guardians / carers;
  • Rules on whether spectators are able to attend games;
  • Rules governing the use of changing rooms
  • Procedures that will be in place should a person become unwell with Covid-19 symptoms;
  • Maps outlining drop-off zones, collection zones, Covid-19 action zones and one-way routes that will be put in place at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground;

    Within the updated RAMS, notable points of emphasis include:

    Rules regarding spectators

    In line with government and FA guidance, spectators are now permitted to attend games. Parents, guardians and carers are also now permitted to watch youth section training.

    However, those attending must adhere to social distancing rules and limits on social gatherings.

    Social gathering limits are set at groups of 30 outdoors and six people or two households indoors.

    Travel to and from training and matches

    All participants and their parents, guardians or carers should continue to follow government guidance on safe travel to and from the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground (and other venues where football activities may be taking place).

    NHS Track and Trace QR Code reminder

    Any visitors to the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground are reminded that they are required to complete Track and Trace. This can be done via the NHS Covid Contact Tracing App by scanning the QR code below.

    Those who are unable to register their attendance using the NHS App must do so by providing contact details upon their entry to the ground. Details will be stored for 21 days before being destroyed. Those refusing to provide details will be refused entry.
