Ladies to receive New Lawn honour for Rovers friendly

Tuesday 27th April 2021

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies will have the honour of playing their friendly against Forest Green Rovers at The innocent New Lawn – home of Rovers' League Two men's side – this coming Sunday.

The fantastic opportunity to play at the EFL ground has been arranged by Forest Green Rovers Women manager Chris Hicks.

Huge thanks go to Chris and all at Forest Green Rovers for making possible what is bound to be a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Opened in 2006, The innocent New Lawn in Nailsworth is a unique stadium, known for being environmentally friendly.

The ground is powered entirely by green energy, some of which is generated from solar panels on the stadium roof and a solar tracker at the ground entrance.

The pitch is organic and cut using a GPS-directed, solar-powered lawnmower, while it is irrigated using rainwater collected at the stadium.

Famously, Forest Green Rovers are a vegan football club, with no animal-based products being sold or served at the stadium.

Please note that Sunday's friendly will be taking place behind closed doors – no spectators are allowed to attend.
