Coronavirus Update: Updated Risk Assessment and Method Statement

Monday 12th April 2021

Royal Wootton Bassett Town have published an updated version of its Covid-19 Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS).

The updated document covers guidance issued in relation to the move into step two of the government's roadmap from Monday 12 April.

It is vital that these procedures are adhered to for the sake of all our members, opposing teams, their families and the wider local community. Football activities will continue to take place according to The FA and Government guidelines.

The RAMS document can be found here.

It is essential that all coaches, players, parents/guardians/carers and supporters take time to read this document. No coach or player must attend any training session or take part in a match unless they have read and understood the controls that are required. It is also necessary for coaches, players and parents/guardians/carers to have signed the RAMS form.

The RAMS document includes vital information, including:

  • A copy of the QR code that can be used with the NHS Covid 19 contact tracing app;
  • An assessment of risks related to maintaining social distancing, the site and buildings, equipment, health and wellbeing, and travelling, and the measures put in place to mitigate against these;
  • How training sessions and matches will take place safely in a way that reduces and minimises the risk of Covid-19 transmission;
  • What is expected of coaches;
  • What is expected of players;
  • What is expected of parents / guardians / carers;
  • Rules on whether spectators are able to attend games;
  • Rules governing the use of changing rooms
  • Procedures that will be in place should a person become unwell with Covid-19 symptoms;
  • Maps outlining drop-off zones, collection zones, Covid-19 action zones and one-way routes that will be put in place at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground;
  • Maps outlining drop-off zones, collection zones, Covid-19 action zones and one-way routes that will be put in place at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground;
  • Control measures will be monitored and audited on a regular basis.

    Within the updated RAMS, notable points of emphasis include:

    Rules regarding spectators

    It remains the case that NO spectators are allowed to attend either training sessions or games at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground. This is due to the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground being private land.

    For training and games involving teams in the club's youth section, only one parent, guardian or carer per child is permitted to attend. This is for safeguarding purposes.

    Those who do attend for safeguarding purposes must maintain social distancing from others at all times and not mix with others from separate households.

    All other parents, guardians and carers should remain either within their cars at the facility or not travel to the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

    Stadium changing rooms use

    Use of the stadium changing rooms is now permitted - but with strict controls.

    Participants must minimise their use of changing rooms where possible. Face masks must be worn by all and only two people can use the shower at the same time. This applies to both home and away teams as well as match officials.

    Other changing rooms will remain closed. The only circumstances in which it will be possible to use these changing rooms is for safeguarding purposes or for disability requirements.

    Travel to and from training and matches

    All participants and their parents, guardians or carers should follow government guidance on safe travel to and from the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground (and other venues where football activities may be taking place).

    NHS Track and Trace QR Code reminder

    Any visitors to the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground are reminded that they are required to complete Track and Trace. This can be done via the NHS Covid Contact Tracing App by scanning the QR code below.

    Those who are unable to register their attendance using the NHS App must do so by providing contact details upon their entry to the ground. Details will be stored for 21 days before being destroyed. Those refusing to provide details will be refused entry.
