Bassett enter Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup competition

Wednesday 31st March 2021

Royal Wootton Bassett Town have entered the Hellenic League Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup competition, which has been organised to compensate for the curtailment of the 2020-21 league campaign.

The competition involves 32 teams from across the Hellenic League Premier Division, Division One West and Division One East.

The teams who have elected to enter have been split into eight regionalised groups of four sides, who will play each other in a home-and-away round robin format throughout April.

The winners and runners-up of each group will then progress to a knockout tournament, with the third and fourth placed sides moving to a Supplementary Cup competition. The knockout stages will take place in May.

Bassett will feature in Group Two, with Sam Collier's side set to face Premier Division rivals Brimscombe and Thrupp as well as Malmesbury Victoria and Stonehouse Town from Division One West.

Fixtures are available to view on the first team fixtures page.

Please note that, until further notice is received, ALL fixtures will be played behind closed doors. This means spectators will NOT be allowed to attend matches.
