Royal Wootton Bassett Town manager Sam Collier is delighted to have retained the services of captain Gio Wrona as well as youngsters George Ford and Daniel Warre, who both made a strong impression in 2019-20.

A classy, dependable performer in the centre of midfield, Wrona will be entering his fourth season with Bassett. In 2019-20, he was the team's second leading appearance maker, playing 26 times, while scoring six goals – including a hat-trick in a convincing 7-0 victory over New College in the FA Vase as well as match winning goal in a league win against Flackwell Heath.

In all, Wrona has featured 118 times for Bassett, winning the Manager's and Supporters' Player of the Year awards in 2017-18 and Manager's Player of the Year prize in 2018-19.

Ford and Warre – both products of Bassett's youth section – shone in the playing time they received in 2019-20 and are expected to make further progress this season.

Full back Ford received Bassett's Young Player of the Year award for his performances. Tasting senior football for the first time, he never appeared fazed in the thirteen games that he played, producing a number of mature, assured performances including a man of the match display in a hard-fought 2-0 away win against Reading City.

After making his first team debut against Fairford Town in November, Warre went on to play twelve times, scoring three goals – including outstanding efforts in victories against Brimscombe and Thrupp and Bishop's Cleeve. Capable of playing on either wing and more than willing to run at defenders, he was also involved in assisting a number of other goals. A huge talent, Warre was the Premier Section Golden Boot winner at the 2019 Super Cup NI as part of Chippenham Town's Academy side.

The Bassett boss has also again secured the signatures of experienced defenders Adam Corcoran and Carl Evans, as well as energetic midfielder Kai Robinson.

A long-time servant of the club, Corcoran made his 200th Bassett appearance last season. Evans, meanwhile, has tallied 47 appearances across three seasons, with Robinson featuring 57 times across a similar period.
