Royal Wootton Bassett Town are pleased to confirm the management team for its Development side for the 2020-21 season.
They will go into their Wiltshire League campaign with Steve Yeardley at the helm. Yeardley will again be joined by Steve Shaw as assistant manager, while former first team player Mark Simpkins has been added as a coach.
Yeardley and Shaw took charge of the Development side at the end of August 2019 and oversaw a transformation in the team's fortunes, with Bassett well-positioned to claim a top half finish before the 2019-20 season's premature conclusion.
Meanwhile, the club are delighted that Simpkins, who played for Bassett between 2001 and 2004 when Pete Yeardley was first team manager, has returned to the club in a coaching capacity. He has previous management experience in the Wiltshire League with Dunbar Westside.
The Development team will again seek to provide young players with Wiltshire League experience, with the aim being to forge stronger links with both the first team and the club's Under 18s side and improve the pathway from youth to senior football.Last modified on Tuesday 21st July 2020 at 12:42.
