Youth Section Presentations

Tuesday 26th May 2020

The Coronavirus pandemic has meant that the 2019-20 Youth Section Presentations are having to be held virtually. Nevertheless, the club's teams have still been able to celebrate their successes throughout the season together.

At each age group, awards are being presented for the Manager's and Players' Player of the Year as well as the Most Improved Player.

Rob Woodhouse Youth Section Fellow of the Year

Named in memory of former Youth Section coach Rob Woodhouse, who passed away in May 2009, the prize recognises a particular volunteer who has gone the extra mile and represents the values that the club seeks to promote.

And this year's recipient was Alfie Gleed of Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 15 Blue.

Alfie is a more than fitting winner.

In addition to being a player within the youth section, Alfie attends every single fundraising event along with his family, helps at walking football to make up the numbers and assists with maintenance work at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground. He has been invaluable during the lockdown too, helping his grandfather – and team manager – Tony Gleed to maintain the facility. Alfie is active across the Sports Association too, being involved with the cricket club.
