Royal Wootton Bassett Town were beaten 3-1 away at Windsor as two first half penalties changed the course of the game.

Ten-man Royal Wootton Bassett Town conceded two penalties in the space of five exasperating first half minutes en route to a 3-1 defeat away at Windsor.

Ahead thanks to Brad Pagliaroli's eleventh minute opener and performing in a promising manner, the pair of spot picks served to flip the match on its head. And while Sam Collier's side pushed hard for an equaliser in the closing stages of the second half, they ultimately succumbed thanks to Danny Horscroft's late strike.

That was until the half hour mark when Michael Miller was judged to have handled a rebound effort on the line. The defender was dismissed and Luke Brooks-Smith fires the resulting penalty into the roof of the net.

Minutes later the hosts had another penalty - one which Bassett felt was harsh - and Brooks-Smith again put it away, this time placing the ball into the bottom corner beyond the outstretched arms of Eddie Cavanagh.

Cavanagh then pulled off a double save to keep Bassett in the contest before the interval.

After soaking up pressure from their hosts for most of the second half, Bassett were able to ask questions of their own late on despite the numerical disadvantage.

But any nerves Windsor may have felt were soothed when Horscroft, a mishit cross finding him in space, curled a shot into the far corner.
