National Representative honours for Ladies’ Smith

Wednesday 11th December 2019

Congratulations to Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies midfielder Sophie Smith who earned her first cap for the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) Representative squad in their fixture against the English Colleges' FA!

The contest was a tightly fought affair, with the ISFA suffering an agonising defeat by the odd goal in three courtesy of a last second winner.

Despite the defeat, being selected for the ISFA Representative side is a massive achievement and one that should be celebrated.

It is richly deserved and demonstrates the qualities possessed by Smith – a technically gifted, quick player who boasts an eye for goal.

In what is her first season playing senior ladies' football, she has also stood out for Bassett, including scoring a hat-trick in her team's Wiltshire County Women's Cup quarter final victory against Melksham Town.
