A new season has started!

Monday 9th September 2019

With the ever growing youth section of the club starting their seasons this weekend, here's what went on to kickstart another season of football!

The Under 13 Blues started off on a high note with already on-form striker Beau Hicks bagging himself a hat-trick in their opening game, a 5-0 win against Highworth Town Juniors J. Noah Cranswick-Coates also was on target for the squad, with their scoring completed by an own goal. A pre-season full of wins and new player signings has proved vital for this team's success and hopefully they can keep pushing for more wins in the coming months.

The Under 18 Yellows also had a strong start to their season, winning 3-1 away to Marlborough Youth. Adam Jones, Matt McDonack and Tom Warren got their goals. Their pre-season has also proven to be effective as a shuffle of players and team building training sessions has kept the group together and the strong squad they have will be hungry for more wins like this during this season.

The Under 16 Blue squad, meanwhile, made their opponents Liden Community, suffer as they won a tremendous 13-0 at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground! Otis Lewis scored five goals, while Kevin Prouse netted a hat trick. This is going to a very exciting year for them in the Division One Despite losing a manager before the start of the season, the team have put their sights towards success and, hopefully, they too will have a cracking season ahead.

The Under 16 Yellows were also victorious, kicking their season off in style with a 6-2 win against Malmesbury Youth Falcons. Their scorers were Daniel Robbins (3), Harry Collins, Tristan McKay and Sebastian Turner.

There was cup success for the Under 12 Yellows too. Playing their first competitive fixture, they defeated South Cerney Youth in a thrilling game that featured eleven goals as they won 7-4. That will hopefully be a springboard for success when they begin their league fixtures and also gives them confidence to carry on further in the cup.

The Under 15 Yellows had a home walkover result for their game versus Highworth Town Juniors T, which now puts them in a good place for their next game against Ramsbury Youth on the 22nd of this month. We wish them all the very best of luck in their cup game next Sunday against Bassett's Under 15 Blues - which will prove to be interesting as the two familiar sides face each other competitively.

Elsewhere, the Under 14 Yellows were beaten narrowly by Lydiard Youth Hammers. Patrick Otoo-Mensah scored in a 3-1 defeat. The Under 14 Blues (1-6 against Ferndale Rodbourne YCFC), Under 14 Whites (1-10 against Blunsdon Youth), Under 13 Yellows (3-14 against Lydiard Millicent Juniors), Under 12 Blues (0-5 against FC Abbey Meads Youth Purple) and Under 12 Whites (0-12 versus Lydiard Youth) all endured tough starts to their seasons. But they'll soon enough get a chance to record their first wins.
