Congratulations to our Dutch friends FC 's-Gravenzande, who have qualified for the first round proper of the KNVB Beker, the equivalent of the FA Cup in the Netherlands.
's-Gravenzande had defeated RKSV Heeze in the opening qualifying round in August and, after four Eredivisie sides made it through to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League in the week, were selected as one of four amateur teams to receive a bye through the second qualifying round and into the main draw.
The draw was made last night, and FC 's-Gravenzande will host SteDoCo, a side who play one level higher in the Derde Divisie, in the week commencing Monday 28th October.
While they may have missed out on a meeting with an Eredivise side, their tie is very much a winnable one and it will be a historic contest for the club.
And, if they win, maybe Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV Eindhoven could await in the second round!
