Senior Section Preseason Training

Tuesday 11 June 2019 - by Stuart Smedley (Updated on 11 June 2019 at 19:23)

Senior section preseason training for Royal Wootton Bassett Town gets started on Tuesday 25th June as the countdown to the start of the Hellenic League Premier Division and Wiltshire Senior League Premier Division campaigns begins.

Sam Collier's first team will be aiming to crack the top half – and maybe push for an even higher placing – after ending their 2018-19 Hellenic Premier season in tenth place.

The Development team, under the guidance of joint managers Steve Chadwick and Andy Mullen will be hoping to improve on eleventh place in the Wiltshire League.

Both teams have challenging preseason fixtures lined up. Among others, the first team will be hosting National League South Chippenham Town as well as League Two team Forest Green Rovers' under 18 side. An opening game against Radstock Town and visits to Cricklade Town, Bradford Town and Malmesbury Victoria have also been arranged.

The Development team are set to face Cirencester Town Development, Corsham Town, the 8th Training Battalion REME (based at Lyneham) and Holt.

Meanwhile they will be training every Tuesday and Thursday (unless a friendly has been organised) from 7 to 9pm at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

Returning and new players are all welcome to attend.
