Guppy back to his best to reclaim Fantasy crown

Monday 13th May 2019

Having finished in only seventh place last season, Andy Guppy bounced back to claim his fourth RWBTFC Fantasy Football League title in five seasons.

Guppy proved a class-above again over the course of the 2018-19 campaign, leading the table for a long period.

And, following the final round of Premier League fixtures, the Sunday team midfielder saw his 'Dirty Oars' squad finish with 2,351 points, 67 more than runner-up Ethan Price's 'IVE GOT NUNO CHANCE' side.

Stewart Whitehead rounded off the top three, coming within two points of overhauling Price after a strong performance in the final week.

It's clear that the competition needs to step up their game next season if they are to catch Guppy.

This season was also Guppy's best yet, as he bettered the 2,330 points he registered the last time he finished top of the three in 2016-17.

Huge thanks go to the 111 entrants who took part in this year's Fantasy League – that figure is a record and represents the first time that the number taking part has reached three figures!

It's great fun to play and, importantly, remains free to enter. The league will be up and running again next season for its tenth edition - and we look forward to seeing even more participants.
