Captain Jefferies at the double

Sunday 28th April 2019

Captain Laura Jefferies took home Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies' Players' Player and Manager's Player of the Year awards as her team celebrated their double winning campaign at their end of season presentation.

Jefferies, one of the team's longest-serving players, continued to a play a vital role for Bassett this season, leading the team by example from midfield as they finished top of the South West Women's Football League Eastern Division and lifted the Wiltshire Women's Cup.

An ever-present in the team, Jefferies provided numerous assists from her dangerous set pieces and also chipped in with two goals.

Meanwhile, Supporters' Player of the Year went to Hannah Gulliver - a double award winner last season. She continued to shine at the heart of Bassett's defence, which conceded just ten goals in league action all season. Gulliver contributed two goals too, including what proved to be a vital opener in a narrow 2-1 home league win against Swindon Town Development.

Sam Wood was presented with the team's Clubperson of the Year prize. She has been frustrated by injury all season. But she has consistently supported the Ladies and First teams throughout the season, even providing updates from Ladies games that have fed into the team's match reports.
