Free Saturday Skills Sessions

Wednesday 10th April 2019

The Free Saturday Skills Sessions will not take place on Saturday 20th April in order to take a break for Easter. Following this, they will resume on Saturday 27th April.

While not normally running during the school holidays, a decision has been taken to run a session on Saturday 13th April.

Open for boys and girls of all abilities aged 4-13, the club originally introduced free skills sessions in September 2012 after the club had its Football Legacy Fund (FLF) application accepted by the FA National Youth Council.

And in 2018 the community football sessions received the prestigious Wiltshire FA Community Project of the Year in the inaugural FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Award.

From Saturday 4th May, the club will be running an SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre alongside these sessions from 9 to 10am. Wildcats football is open to all girls aged 5 to 11.

The FA and SSE launched the Wildcats Girls' Football initiative to inspire girls aged between 5-11 to be involved in football. SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun, engaging and safe environment. Over 1,400 centres have now been established nationwide.

Each SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre is run in conjunction with local County FAs, utilising qualified coaches and local facilities to offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved.

SSE Wildcats Girls' Football has been established in partnership with SSE, supporter of girls' football participation and sponsor of the SSE Women's FA Cup, with support from UEFA, FIFA and The Youth Sport Trust.
