Under 18 Yellows seal third spot

Sunday 7th April 2019

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 18 Yellow secured a fine third place finish in North Wilts League Division One with a hard-fought 2-1 triumph against Marlborough Youth.

Dominic Harris' third of the season and a second of the campaign for Samuel Perry were enough for Bassett to prevail by the odd goal in three to guarantee the points they needed.

They are set to finish their season against title chasing Malmesbury Victoria Youth Development next Sunday and will be hoping to do Bassett's Blue team a favour.

Also victorious were the Under 16 Blues, who recorded their second league victory of the week, triumphing 6-1 away against Stanford in the Vale.

That followed a 3-0 home win against Castle Combe Colts on Tuesday courtesy of goals from Michael Friend, Marshall Thompson and Daniel Warre.

They now finish with four home games to finish the season, including a potential Division One title decider against Cirencester Town Centurions on Tuesday 16th April.

Elsewhere, the Under 14 Blues (0-8 against Bishops Cannings Fireblades), Under 14 Yellows (1-4 against North Swindon Lions) and Under 13 Whites (2-6 against Lydiard Youth Vikings) brought their seasons to a finish with defeats.
