Title runs still on track

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Under 18 and 16 Blue teams kept their North Wilts League Division One title hopes alive with victories this weekend.

The elder of the two teams saw off Brinkworth Cata 3-0 and, with four games still to play, remain five points ahead of Malmesbury Victoria Youth Development, who possess a game in hand.

Meanwhile, the Under 16 Blues defeated Cirencester Town Gladiators 3-1 away from home. Bassett are in second, eleven points behind Cirencester's Centurions team, with four games in hand to play.

The Under 15 Blues were unfortunate to lose 2-1 against Division One leaders FC Chippenham Youth White.

Harry Farrow had given Bassett a half time lead, but Chippenham struck twice without reply in the second half to claim the points. They are now a win away from claiming the title. Despite the defeat, Bassett remain on course for a second place finish.

The Under 12 Blues were defeated 3-1 by Malmesbury Youth. Jake Webster grabbed an equaliser for Bassett before Malmesbury scored two unanswered goals.

The Under 13 Whites were beaten 10-0 by Stratton Juniors Bears.
