Daniel Warre's extra time goal secured Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 16 Blue a place in the Wiltshire County Cup final for the second year in a row as his team defeated Trowbridge Town Youth Lions 1-0 in a dramatic semi final encounter.

Facing the same team that they beat in the last four just a year ago, Bassett were subject to another tense battle against an equally strong Trowbridge side.

Neither side was able to break the deadlock in regulation. But in extra time Warre, who scored the winner against Trowbridge at this stage of the competition last season, fired home the decisive goal.

Bassett, hoping to retain their County Cup title, will face Chippenham Town Youth in the final after they edged out Salisbury Youth by the odd goal in five a fortnight ago.

In league action, there was a fantastic third win of the season for the Under 14 Yellows as they deserved beat mid-table outfit North Swindon Lions 2-1 in Division Three thanks an exceptional team performance.

Playing the conditions far better than their opponents, goals from leading scorers Oliver Dyer and Samuel Warner delivered the three points.

Also victorious were the Under 15 Blues, who pulled within a point of Division One leaders FC Chippenham Youth White with a 17-0 thrashing of Lambourn Sports Juniors.

Ten different scorers found the net, though Harry Farrow and Kevin Prouse led the way with four goals each.

Facing joint Division Two leaders Stratton Juniors Bears, the Under 12 Yellows came within five minutes of claiming what would have been a deserved point. However, they conceded late on to fall to a narrow 1-0 defeat.

Meanwhile, the Under 13 Whites were beaten 5-0 at home by Ferndale Rodbourne Rebels.
