Nicholls pair seals a point for in-form Under 12 Blues

Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 12 Blue made it three games unbeaten in North Wilts League Division Two as they drew 2-2 at home against FC Calne Galaxy.

Thomas Nicholls' brace ensured his team were able to twice come from behind and maintain their good run of form, which has seen them establish a solid mid-table position.

The Under 12 Blues were the only team to register a positive result on a weekend when relatively few matches got played though.

However, there were some close contests which Bassett teams were unfortunate to lose.

The Under 12 Yellows narrowly missed out on joining their age group partners in making it three unbeaten as they fell to defeat by the odd goal in three away at Ferndale Rodbourne YCFC.

Ferndale had twice comfortably defeated Bassett earlier in the season, but they were made to work extremely hard for the points this time as Nikolai Ball found the net for the Yellows.

The Under 16 Yellows pushed Division Two leaders Wanborough Juniors Yellow all the way. But goals from Noah Beech and Adam Jones were not enough to prevent a 4-2 loss.

After an excellent start to the campaign, the Under 14 Blues have found the going difficult in recent weeks. And that run continued as they were narrowly defeated 3-1 by Division One basement dwellers Malmesbury Youth Warriors.

Meanwhile, the Under 14 Yellows were well beaten 8-1 by title-chasing Stratton Juniors Jaguars.
