Development team management change

Royal Wootton Bassett Town have made a change in their Development team management structure.

Further to the club's intended ethos for the Wiltshire League Development side, Steve Chadwick and Mike Brewer will take over from Paul Gerrish and head up a new 'coaching-based' management team for the remainder of the season.

Chadwick, currently working towards his UEFA B Coaching Licence, joined Bassett last season as Head of Youth Coaching and has assisted with training for the Development team too.

Brewer, meanwhile, was a member of Rich Hunter's first team coaching staff between 2016 and January 2018.

The club would like to express their sincere thanks to Paul for his efforts with the Development team over the past season and a half.

Having been involved with the club's youth section and then been in charge of the Under 18 Floodlit League team for two years, Gerrish stepped up to take over the Development team at the start of last season.

Utilising a young squad, many of who had played for him in the Under 18s, he guided the team to a creditable tenth place finish.

So far this season, the Development side have recorded two wins and a draw from their opening nine games.

The club is also pleased that Paul will remain at the club and are in discussions with him regarding a new role.
