Free Saturday Skills Sessions to resume

Sunday 2nd September 2018

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's award-winning free Saturday Skills Sessions are to resume on 8th September.

Part of the club's community football offering, the free coaching sessions take place during school term time.

Open for boys and girls of all abilities aged 4-13, these take place on the state-of-the-art AGP pitch at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground between 9 and 10am.

All attendees need to bring boots, shin pads and weather appropriate clothing.

The club originally introduced free skills sessions in September 2012 after the club had its Football Legacy Fund (FLF) application accepted by the FA National Youth Council.

And in 2018 the community football sessions received the prestigious Wiltshire FA Community Project of the Year in the inaugural FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Award.

Having previously been run by Jeff and Helen Tidy, these will now be overseen by the club's new Community Football Officer Mark Ellis. For more information about the sessions, please contact Mark by email.

Disability football

The club is also seeking to develop provision of free coaching for young players with a disability. These would take place alongside the free Saturday morning sessions.

Players of all ages will be welcome to attend the disability sessions, which will also be overseen by Mark Ellis. For more information, please contact Mark.
