Quartet earn sportsmanship awards

Friday 22 June 2018 - by Stuart Smedley (Updated on 22 June 2018 at 08:47)

Three of Royal Wootton Bassett Town's youth sides were presented with sportsmanship awards at the North Wilts League Annual General Meeting, while the club's Development team finished in second place in the Wiltshire League's EC Mills Sportsmanship awards.

The Under 10 Yellows and Under 14 Yellows both won their age group's Don Rogers Sports Sportsmanship Award, while the Under 16 Blues were presented with the Respect Award for their age group.

Meanwhile, the Development team's second place finish, behind winners Bremhill, for the EC Mills Sportsmanship trophy saw the club earn £200 in prize money from the Wiltshire League.

Congratulations are due to all four teams!

While on field success is important, Royal Wootton Bassett Town are equally committed to promoting good behaviour and respect for others, which forms a key part of the club's ethos. And through the recognition received by these four teams, it is clear that this is being put into practice.
