The Hills Group Limited is a privately owned family company which was founded in 1900. It is a regional business based in Swindon, but with operations in the surrounding counties. Its principal activities are recycling and waste management, quarrying of aggregates and production of ready-mixed concrete, and building new homes.

Community First is a registered charity and a private company limited by guarantee. The Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) is an innovative tax credit scheme enabling operators of landfill sites to contribute money to organisations enrolled with ENTRUST as Environmental Bodies (EBs). The Government introduced tax on landfill waste in 1996 to reduce the amount of land-filled waste and to promote more environmentally sustainable methods of waste management. The LCF allows Landfill Operators (LOs) to contribute a portion of their landfill tax liability to community and environmental organisations to 'offset' some of the negative impacts of living in the vicinity of a landfill site.
